Now McIntosh says “We’ve got regular outreach across the Denver-metro area a thick program guide and music service from thousands of labels. KGNU’s music shows include Americana classical free-form international blues and jazz. Saturday nights are dedicated to electronic music. And four hours of airtime starting at 3 a. every day are set aside for new talent: “Anything goes” as the Web site says. The unique mix of music is what Bob Greenlee thinks helped KGNU stay on the air.

He challenged me to combine acoustic music and electronic music and that led to another project Kurzweil Music Systems where we created the first music synthesizer that could re-create the grand piano. MIRA AROYO is not one for exaggeration… “We’re not nearly as exotic as you’ve been led to believe” she says laughing on the phone from her London flat. “Everyone talks about the uniforms we used to wear on stage but that was meant to be a complete anti-fashion statement. We thought that would detach us from fashion and draw more attention to the music rather than us. “Obviously all it did was draw attention to the actual uniforms. ” She laughs again. Since forming in 1998 Ladytron – who release their brooding fourth long-player Velocifero this week – have found themselves bound by mystique. After meeting on the Liverpool DJ circuit – Aroyo happily concedes the story that it was on a train crossing eastern Europe to be pure make-believe – the quartet’s inimitable blend of noise-drenched analog electronics opaque atmospheres and pure harmonic pop has garnered much art-schooled admiration.

Aki Onda a Japanese electronic musician who currently lives in Brooklyn is best known for his “Cassette Memories” series — Mr. Onda spent two decades making sound diaries consisting of various field recordings and began releasing the tapes in 2003. Onda released “Everydays” (Family Vineyard) their debut collaboration.

The venue itself is a spacious studio in the middle of Jhongjheng Park (¤¤¥¿¤¶?in downtown Jhongli so noise complaints from neighbors have never been an issue. And since the studio’s owner is a bartending teacher who’s more into public service than making money punters out on a tight budget can still get blasted. ‘Battlestar Galactica’ music takes off

“It’s the most daring use of music in a TV show that maybe has ever been tried. It’s going to redefine the role that a score can play. “In addition to “Galactica” McCreary composes the music for Fox’s “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” (mostly electronic with metallic sounds and oddly recorded string quartet) and Sci Fi’s “Eureka” (a wacky sound that McCreary describes as “bluegrass-zydeco-country meets ’80s new-wave and 8-bit videogames”). But “Galactica” it appears may be McCreary’s calling card for some time to come.
