We hope to create another “playing ground” for people who share the same aspirations of developing this kind of music professionally. We?ve created a website sponsored by the Independent Artist Club for those who would like to upload their compositions and share their views on the music and lifestyle. But DJs and electronic music have been in Viet Nam for a decade already. Where do you see it going from here?Last year I was able to attend a few Asian and European music festivals and I realised that Vietnamese musicians are on par with many of the world players. But we have a limited audience. Therefore DJs and electronic music remain unpopular on public stages. What do you think Vietnamese musicians can do in order to attract larger audiences?We need to identify exclusive traits in our traditional music and find the best way to mix these elements into modern music. This will allow us to attract larger audiences. When playing at international festivals I try to highlight Vietnamese music using traditional pieces in my performances.

Together with the turnouts expected following the return of Sundown in the City the DJs hope to alter perceptions of electronic music by portraying the immense spectrum of what electronic music can include. Belmont (who contributes much to El Deth Productions and his own subsidiary Planet Icon) met Mic One (a contributor to Lava Productions) last year through El Deth founder and jack-of-trades Arrison Kirby and have collaborated on tracks and shows ever since. The two cite their different styles as being a reason for their compatibility.
