At the moment the group is in the studio composing tracks for its as-yet-untitled fifth album. The record is scheduled for release in 2008 and the two have been hard at work on the writing process. Whereas most electronic music is built around a beat the Crystal Method's approach is a bit more unorthodox. Jordan is the studio wizard whose main focus is on engineering the tracks while Kirkland is the driving artistic force. “With us it can really be anything.

Wethrew some sweaty parties put out some great records and cultivatedlocal talent—but there wasn’t any singular event or definitiverecord that screamed to the world that “we have arrived. ” Whichisn’t to say that we haven’t arrived; more like we won’t be screaminganything to the world when we can talk quietly and confidently amongourselves instead. Promotion-wise collaboration was the theme for the year. Decibel and Death of the Party started with some frictionbut pulled together the hoppingest night at this year’snot-scaled-back-as-planned Decibel Festival.
