Earthtimes – Sep 28, 2007
‘Dhokha’ is sung by Tarannum and Anousha Mani. With lyrics written by Nileesh Misra ‘Dhokha’ isn’t great but would pass off as a decent hear. Heavy on musical arrangements ‘Johnny Breakbeat mera naam’ is a situational track that has echo thrown in here and there dialogues sewed in with electronic music paving its way in. Akriti Kakkar and Suraj Jagan croon title track ‘Johnny Gaddar’. A number that is sure to build up the suspense and thrill in the film. ‘Johnny Gaddar’ is penned by Jagdeep Sahni. It belongs to a genre time tested by composers of music for all the mafia movies.

As Black Strobe the thin Smagghe is the DJ and Rebotini theproducer. Both had worked in the dance music section of Rough Traderecord store in the mid-’90s before forming Black Strobe who madetheir debut with a song featured on the Sourcelab 3 compilationwhich was a reaction to the shimmer-y disco sound Paris had becomerenowned for back then.
Electronic ratings make waves in radio industry
USA Today – Sep 28, 2007
The biggest difference is that far more people listen to the radio than had previously been understood. Blaise Howard general manager at WBEB-FM in Philadelphia said he was “taken aback” to discover that nearly every station in that city roughly doubled the size of their total listenership under the new ratings system. That statistic should be music to the ears of broadcasters — but there’s more: The electronic ratings also show that people tend to switch channels a lot more than was known and that the total time listening per person is down resulting in lower ratings at many stations. Most advertising is sold based on a station’s ratings during a given day and in many cases those figures are lower. That leaves many broadcasters having to defend their current prices to advertisers. “Business is not that good” Howard says but he also says things are looking up as ad sales people and advertisers adjust to the new ratings and as upgrades to the system come through. Among other things the new ratings also showed that men tend to spend more time listening to radio than women; working people more than those who don’t work; people listen to more radio stations than they had reported in the past; and mainstream formats such as rock country and soft rock fared better than they had under the diary method.

Simian Mobile Disco – music wires lights and stuff…
Channel 4 News – Sep 28, 2007
It was quitespectacular; they were like a pair of musical maniacal electricians. But there was more to the gig than watching two menjump around with wires. Simian areresponsible for some amazing tracks over the past year; the bleepingelectronic ‘It’s The Beat’ the moody downbeat ‘I Believe’ and the gritty electromasterpiece ‘Hustler’ – and remixes such as their work on Klaxons’Magik’ – all of which they somehow reproduced using the bizarre technologyoutlined above. We don’t know how they did it and to be honest it’s not ourplace to question. After a lot of dancing we banged our head on a low roof andhad a bit of a bruise. It was all worth it though Simian were amazing. We just hopethey were able to get all those leads packed away in the right places.
