It’s not a bad album but it’s not that great either. It’s a passable blend of electro and trip hop that Sneaker Pimps did a good 5 years ago. Lyrically inspired some of the time lyrically insipid the rest. It’s pretty difficult to judge an album like that. For me this is basically Experimental music for people nearing their 30s. It’s pop with a hardcold edge but it doesn’t demand anything the way the best dance music should.

The new record will also be dance-led as Lisa hopes to leave her garage roots far behind. She said: “The violence that sprang up around garage was just too much so I had to get out of it. “But the house music scene in Ibiza and places like that is full of drugs so young people getting into this music have to be careful. I just hope drugs don’t ruin house the way violence spoiled garage. “Whatever scene you are part of it is about enjoying the music and not getting caught up in what goes along with it. “If it is not good for you get out of it. That’s why I quit garage… That’s why I quit garage. Lisa admits making the switch to dance music was hard but she is loving the change. She said: “Bad Girl is about me trying out the music of today which is electro house. That’s what people are into now. “I’ve also been out to Ibiza performing which was amazing. You can definitely expect more of this stuff from me. “I actually have two albums ready to go – dirty pop stuff with some electro house.

TRNT – You never see karaoke coming. Every store coffee shop bar and dining room in Toronto's artsy Queen Street West neighborhood had eclectic music playing in the background – one a Japanese version of the Supremes' “Baby Love”; another a Jeff Buckley-like singer intoning his angst. We shopped for handmade paper with an electro-torch version of “My World Is Empty Without You” in the background while a neighboring bookstore played T. Rex's “Electric Warrior” album in its entirety. When a glam-rock classic from 1971 is the most conventional ambient music heard in the neighborhood you're not ready for Terri who looks like she could be anybody's secretary to proudly step up and belt out “Redneck Woman” nor are you ready for the room to be packed for Terri. The “room” is the bar in the Gladstone Hotel a turn-of-the-century Victorian hotel that gradually slid into disrepair until 2000 when new owners bought it and renovated it. At its low point in the 1990s it was a dive too grungy for all but the most adventurous drinkers and certainly not a place suburbanites would flock for their 3-½ minutes of demi-fame… The Drake has become a place to be seen. People line up waiting for its outdoor patio to open. It too is an active hotel and the music programming in the indoor bar is as eclectic as you'd expect with DJs indie rock and jazz bands. The night after my wife and I left town a band celebrated the 20th anniversary of Prince's “Sign ' the Times” by playing it in its entirety. It has also sponsored street arts organizing mini-festivals of break dancers and spray painting demonstrations by graffiti artists. Sense of styleAs you might expect everybody is beautiful or at least exotic. Toronto like much of ntario was settled by advertising around the world that a fledgling country existed where people could come and be together in a more hospitable climate where land was plentiful.
