‘s acclaimed performance at a music festival in Germany. Composed of Malek Lopez and Noel de Brackinghe the talented duo has been collaborating on a musical project with the Berlin-based DJ brothers Andi and Hannes Teichmann. Next month the Teichmann Brothers are coming to town for the Manila leg of “Soundscapes: Electronic Music in Southeast Asia Australia and New Zealand” a unique music project that spans nine cities. It all began last year when top German DJ Hans Nieswandt visited nine cities in the region scouting for talent uncovering regional trends and meeting with local artists while playing special gigs along the way. Upon his return to Germany Nieswandt selected one artist per country to participate in the second installment of his ambitious project: A collaboration between his chosen artists and German DJs. The Deep End was first slated to open its doors earlier this summer but was delayed by the construction and permitting process. The club will operate year-round on the weekends and on Wednesday and Thursday nights when school is not in session. Besides the owner and a few adult volunteers teens staff the operation – DJ’s spin hip-hop and electronic music bouncers man the door and servers pour non-alcoholic beverages. nce club owners receive further permitting The Deep End will also serve food. Rent is notoriously expensive in Tahoe City and Saunders said he is apprehensive about launching late in the summer but hopeful the local teenagers will frequent his club.
