Experts in vinyl mass sampling electronic handling and scratching High Tone broke through with their innovative digital music in the early '90s. The five-member group from Lyon released its debut album "pus Incertum" and six follow-ups with indie label Jarring Effects. Their music is the alchemy of three key elements: '70s dub electronic music and ethnic music. They freely experiment and tune their frequencies – from the lowest to the highest points – and are always on the quest to make the temperature rise. And with their thirst to explore they never stop inventing new sounds. High Tone is above all a group that forged its reputation on stage. Chirodeep Lahiri DrummerI have recently rediscovered this album of a favourite band of mine from the 1980s Contraband by the Men at Work. The best thing about this album is the fact that it encapsulates the sounds that we associate with the 1980s yet manages to have a distinct feel of its own. I feel this album will appeal to those who like electronic music. Anjum Katyal SingerI would most definitely recommend Bandish a fusion album of Shubhen Chatterejee and the popular band Karma. The best thing about the album is the fact that they gel very well together. It is multilayered and is yet very listener friendly. It will appeal to the both classical music lover and those who like contemporary Indian music.
