They spare no expense when it comes to getting the best audio for their games. Granado Espada is no exception as a variety of talent was assembled to produce what I think is one of the most memorable game soundtracks in recent years. (a band comprised of former SoundTeMP members) frequent Beatmania contributor Kubota samu and Korean film composer Kim Junsung composed the remainder of the pieces. Since the release of the game updates have included tracks by the world famous DJ Tiesto but those tracks are not found on this album.

These days too there are plenty of young artists stirring the charts in France — so many that it feels as though French music is in the process of reinventing itself. “Marly-Gomont” a celebration of rural multicultural life by the rapper Kamini was the No. 1 single in France during February; it’s indicative of the increasing pride France is taking in its homegrown music. At one end of the spectrum is a singer who’s been around for decades — Johnny Halliday who began in 1960 as the country’s answer to Elvis.
Circus – Saturday April 28th – Liverpool

The night that has continued Liverpool’s long-running love of the rave in spectacular style through four years of events bringing the best of house music to the city and celebrating every thing that jacks swings moves and grooves the perfect combination of Scouse hedonism and the best talent in electronic music’s aural canon. April’s swung by and it’s another month another party but once again another unerring statement of intent with a devastating selection of music. Circus never opt for the easy play safe option here and once again they’ve put together a line-up that excites and tantalises in equal measures. The Circus Kingpin himself Yousef will be playing a very special five hour set in the theatre in what will surely be an extremely electrifying occasion. Liverpool’s ringmaster is still the driving force behind Circus returning every month from his jaunts worldwide to give back to the city that cemented his love for the music… Two people who have gone from being rave’s rising stars to full blown solar systems in a drastically short space of time playing together for five hours. By themselves they’d sell out but coming together with one vintage amalgamation of unswerving musical knowledge and light-fingered trickery is just too good to be true. We were rightfully astonished and excited about their ne + ne tour and knew we had to be a part of it and where better to experience them than in the intimacy of the Loft? And if that wasn’t enough The Bar plays host to one of house music’s true heavyweights Kerri Chandler! If ever a producer has managed to distil the very essence of music into their records Chandler is that man; every drum synth and string seeping from his creations oozes house. He knocks out seminal records with aplomb and any budding disciple of house constantly emulates his style and his dj sets have become equally memorable crafted out of love and passion rather than statements of what’s hot right now. Supporting him will be Circus’ young whippersnappers Lewis Boardman and Alex Wolfenden stars in their own right who consistently set the foundation for the guests in Liverpool and manage to blaze away long after they finish. Completing the final element of one very special evening they’ll be making sure the mood remains perfect throughout.
